India Malawi Trade Conference was organized at Ahmedabad

India Africa Trade Council organized the India Malawi Trade Conference at the ITC Narmada hotel on 23rd September with the Chief Guest High Commissioner of Malawi in India, H.E. Leonard Mengezi along with his wife and a diplomatic delegation to enhance business cooperation with Gujarat. They were received by Sunil Rajdev and family along with Daivik Shah, Mohit Srivastava and Baiju M kumar. H.E Mr. Leonard Mengezi and delegate visited Gandhi Ashram.

The conference had the presence of 100 important Gujarat based companies to explore opportunities in Malawi. During the day the High Commissioner Mr. Leonard Mengezi along with Dr. Asif Iqbal inaugurated Indian Malawi trade council office in Ahmedabad . H.E Mr. Leonard Mengezi  and delegates attended India Malawi trade conference and awarded charge of Trade commission office to Hon’bl Sunil Rajdev.

H.E Mr. Leonard Mengezi  with delegates visited Shalby hospital to explore opportunities of developing healthcare and pharma in Malawi with Indian partners.

The idea of this conference was to share the business potential of Gujarat state and to explore opportunities in Malawi. A business delegation was announced to visit Malawi in the month of November this year, mainly from Gujarat.

 H.E Mr. Leonard Mengezi and delegates had detailed discussions with Sunil Rajdev, Daivik Shah and members of IATC and IETO about strengthening business between two countries and road map ahead.

During the event also present important dignified personalities such as Asif Iqbal, President, Indian Economic Trade Organization, who talked about the Organisation’s vision for the business relations with Malawi. Also present Trade Commissioner- Zimbabwe, Mr. Baiju M Kumar, Vice Admiral (Retd) Ajit Kumar, renowned CA, Mr. T.K. Tekwani. Shri Mohit Srivastava, Director – Indian Economic Trade  Organization gave an opening remarks to explain India’s connectivity with Malawi. Hon’ble Sunil Rajdev emphasised on increasing trade and investment in various sectors such as IT, Pharma, education etc between India and Malawi.
