On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, here’s how Zee TV actors plan to light up their homes and relationships

Diwali is an auspicious festival that symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, and is popularly known as the “festival of lights”. In North India, worshipping Lord Ganesha and Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, is an important ritual of Diwali Puja, which signifies the welcoming of prosperity and wealth. On this auspicious occasion of Diwali, Zee TV’s actors, such as  Shubhangi Latkar from Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan, Mohak Matkar from Saru, Farman Haider from Jagadhatri, Abhishek Sharma from Vasudha, Manasi Joshi Roy from Lakshmi Niwas, Niharika Chouksey from Tumm Se Tumm Tak, Jayati Bhatia from Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile, and Sagar Parekh from Jagriti-Ek Nayi Subah, share their best memories of Diwali and how they plan to celebrate this year.

Shubhangi Latkar, who essays the role of Ganga Mai in Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan said, “Diwali has always been one of my favourite times of the year. It brings back so many fond memories of my childhood: cleaning the house with my family, decorating every corner with diyas, and helping my mother prepare delicious festive sweets. Even today, I love performing the Lakshmi puja with my family and then sitting together to share laughter, stories, and homemade delicacies. There’s a special joy in those simple moments, meeting relatives, exchanging sweets, and watching the house light up with love and togetherness. For me, that’s the true spirit of Diwali, celebrating light, love, and the bonds that make life beautiful.”

Manasi Joshi Roy, who will be seen in the role of Lakshmi in Zee TV’s Lakshmi Niwas, said, “Diwali has always been a festival very close to my heart. I have so many memories attached to it, from making rangolis and preparing mithais to decorating the house, attending Diwali parties, playing cards, and performing the pooja at home. I love the energy Diwali brings, homes lit up, families coming together, and everyone dressed in their festive best. For me, it’s a day to pause, count my blessings, and celebrate the joy of giving. All these little traditions make my Diwali truly special.”

Niharika Chouksey, who essays the role of Anu in Zee TV’s Tumm Se Tumm Tak, said, “Diwali is my absolute favorite time of the year! I start the day by taking my parents’ blessings, slipping into new clothes, and then diving straight into all the delicious food, that’s when all my diet plans go out the window (laughs). I love decorating the house with fairy lights and diyas and spending the evening bursting a few crackers with family and friends. This festival fills my heart with warmth and excitement, every year. Happy Diwali everyone.”

Jayati Bhatia, who essays the role of Sharda Suryavanshi (Bua Ji) in Zee TV’s Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile, said, “Because I’m a Bengali and belong to Delhi, Diwali for me has always been a mix of traditions. Kali Puja holds a special place, and of course, Diwali is also about Lakshmi Puja. It’s the time when we celebrate the return of Lord Ram and the victory of good over evil. There’s no dieting during this time; it’s all about indulging in good food and sweets! I’m honestly quite scared of firecrackers, but I love watching and enjoying them from afar. This Diwali is extra special for me because, after a long time, I’ll be celebrating it in Delhi with my family, and I’m really excited about that.”

Farman Haider, who plays the role of Shivay in Zee TV’s Jagadhatri, said, “Diwali is that time of the year when my house is filled with the aroma of all the delicious snacks and sweets, shakkarpare, namakpare, karanji, gujiya, you name it! I absolutely love all of them, and honestly, I don’t like sharing them with anyone (laughs). For me, Diwali is about indulging in these homemade treats, spending time with family, and soaking in all the positive energy around. It’s a festival that reminds us to be grateful, spread joy, and of course, enjoy all the good food guilt-free! Diwali has always been one of my favorite festivals. For me, it’s not just about lighting diyas or bursting crackers, but about spreading smiles and spending time with loved ones. I wish everyone a Diwali filled with happiness, prosperity, and beautiful new beginnings. Let’s celebrate safely and share the light with those around us.”

Abhishek Sharma, who plays the role of Devansh in Zee TV’s Vasudha said, “Diwali has always been a festival that brings immense positivity and warmth into our lives. I love how every corner lights up, not just with diyas and decorations, but with love and laughter. For me, Diwali is all about spending quality time with family, enjoying good food, and reflecting on everything we’re grateful for. I wish that just like the light of the diyas, happiness and hope continue to shine bright in everyone’s homes. Here’s wishing all the viewers of Vasudha a very happy, safe, and joyous Diwali!”

Mohak Matkar, who plays the role of Saru in Zee TV’s Saru said, “Diwali has always been one of the most special times of the year for me. I love the energy, the lights, and the sense of togetherness it brings. My favourite part of the festival is decorating the house with diyas and rangoli, dressing up in traditional outfits, and of course, indulging in all the delicious sweets! This year, my wish is that everyone’s life shines as brightly as the Diwali lights. Let’s fill our homes and hearts with love, laughter, and positivity. Wishing everyone a very happy and safe Diwali!”

Sagar Parekh, who plays the role of Akash Thakur in Zee TV’s Jagriti: Ek Nayi Subah said, “The moment Diwali arrives, my mind always drifts back to my childhood, surrounded by the smell of sweets, the excitement of lighting diyas, and that magical feeling of a new beginning filled with endless possibilities. This Diwali, I wish for each one of you to experience your own ‘Jagriti’, which is a beautiful awakening of hope, prosperity, and endless joy. May your homes be illuminated not just by diyas, but by laughter, love, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow. Wishing you and your loved ones a very Happy and Prosperous Diwali!”
