Like every year, RED FM has come up with a brand new Red Raas for this year’s Navratri.
Navratri is the longest dancing festival of the world. Lakhs of people dance to the tunes of garba (Gujarati folk) in full vigour for 9 nights. For many decades there was no novelty in the tunes. That’s when RED FM saw the opportunity to enter this space. Since RED FM has entered this space and has independently created music, with 91 original tracks and its been 15 successful years of this creative journey.
New songs are composed every year which highlight the major happenings of the country with a “Bajaate Raho!” twist. The music is a mix of tradition and contemporary feel. It is the only Garba Album that today’s generation can relate to as the lyrics and music are in sync with today’s folklore.
Likewise, this Navratri, RED FM is thrilled to announce the release of “Red Raas 15,” a vibrant celebration of culture and music. This enthralling piece features the enchanting vocals of the talented Shirley Setia, known for her captivating performances and melodic charm. The song – “Vahalam Hu Kantadi Re” is a delightful fusion of traditional melodies and contemporary beats, showcasing the rich heritage of our music while appealing to modern audiences. The collaboration between K. Sumant and Aalap Kilani bring a refreshing sound that complements Shirley’s powerful voice, creating an unforgettable listening experience.
Shri Rajat Dholakia’s expertise in music direction adds depth and authenticity to the composition, ensuring that every note resonates with the listener. The lyrics by Shri Saumya Joshi (“Gotilo” song fame) weave a beautiful narrative, painting a vivid picture of modern women prioritising their independence and empowerment. It plays around contemporary topics while maintaining the sync with traditional elements.
