The 9th edition of Ahmedabad International Literature Festival will be held on 5th and 6th October 2024 at Centre for Environment Education Thaltej Tekra, Ahmedabad. This was announced by the founder director of the festival Umashanker Yadav and Manoj Aggarwal, IAS (Retd.) in an interaction with media on1st October 2024.
Umashanker Yadav informed that over fifty speakers from all parts of India and abroad representing people from all walks of will participate in around twenty sessions including cultural activities, poster releases of films and book launches. The festival will open with the Kathak performance from noted artist Rachna Yadav also publisher and Managing Director of reputed Hindi literary magazine, Hans.
The speakers include renowned screenwriter and lyricist Niren Bhatt, poet and diplomat Abhay K. lyricist Dr. Sagar, edupreneur and author Dr. Manjula Pooja Shroff, lyricist Dr. Sagar, mythological author Kavita Kane, chairman of Gujarat Sahitya Academy Bhagyesh Jha, poet and novelist Mukul Kumar, Hindi blogger, writer and bureaucrat Krishna Kumar Yadav, Dr. Upendranath Raina, Dr. Heera Lal IAS, Ajay Chaudhry IPS, Naishadh Purani and others.
Actors from Hindi and Gujarati film industry Karan Oberoi, Vishal Yadav and Hardik Shastri will be talking about their work, films and also the different genres and the mediums. Newly established SERENE FILMS will be launching the poster of their upcoming Gujarati and Hindi short films.
In an exclusive session organized by Serene Publishers, the books of the authors Shraddha Ramani, Kumud Verma, Maitridevi Sisodia, Leena Kheria, Khushi Master and Anaya Singhi will be discussed and launched by eminent personalities.
In other sessions, youths from Tanzania, Hungary, Bangladesh, Mauritius and India will be discussing about the literature and the future.
Manoj Aggarwal, IAS (Retd.) talked about the focus of festival and the theme. He said that the aim of the festival is to inspire and encourage youth and young adults for creativity and this reflects on the topics of various sessions and the speakers invited. Content in this festival is the priority. The topics and themes are well researched to make an impact on the audience and the society. The theme of this edition Literature and Societal Development says it all. He also emphasised on continuation of thr legacy by paying rich tribute to its late mentor Dr. SK Nanda IAS by organizing a special session in his memory.
