“TB Free Bhuj (Kutch)” Campaign by RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre and Deendayal Port Authority

Rajkot:Guinness Book of World Records holder RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre, in collaboration with Deendayal Port Authority, is taking a significant step against (TB) in Bhuj (Kutch). So far, about 1,187 people have been examined and tested under this campaign. Also, medicines have been distributed to 380 patients. The initiative also includes daily awareness programs, which aim to educate the public about TB prevention, necessary precautions and causes of the disease. Under the guidance of TB Officer Bhuj (Kutch), RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre has deployed staff in each taluka (Bhuj, Nakhatrana, Mandvi, Anjar, Bhachau, Rapar, Gandhidham, Mundra, Abdasa, Lakhpat), who collect sputum samples and conduct awareness programs. GeneXpert machine is used for TB testing. These screening, testing and awareness campaigns are also being conducted in schools.Dr. Dharmendra Kumar, Chairman, RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre is committed to making Gujarat TB free. This effort is a significant step towards realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of TB elimination by 2025. By providing comprehensive TB testing and necessary care, this campaign aims to substantially reduce the prevalence of TB in the region. With the involvement of several doctors and medical professionals, RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre and Deendayal Port Authority are taking major steps to make Bhuj (Kutch) a TB free district.

India is fighting the TB crisis, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged to eliminate the disease by 2025. Under this campaign, RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre has launched an initiative to raise awareness and make Gujarat tuberculosis free.People who are diagnosed with the disease will receive treatment for six months (screening and testing on a daily basis, distribution of medicines and information about TB through awareness programmes). The comprehensive approach to combat TB has been appreciated by all. With the aim of improving public health, medical professionals have already started treating patients suffering from this disease.
