In February 2024, the patient arrived at Wockhardt Hospitals with severe symptoms, including diarrhea, decreased urine output, abdominal distension, and pedal edema. Upon admission, her condition was critical with dangerously low blood pressure (90-100/60-70 mmHg). Her urine output was minimal, and creatinine levels had increased to 3.8 mg/dL, indicating severe kidney dysfunction and putting her at risk of needing hemodialysis.
Under the expert leadership of Dr. Pritish Shah, Consultant Nephrologist at Wockhardt Hospitals, a comprehensive treatment plan was promptly initiated. The patient received antibiotics and intravenous dopamine to stabilize her blood pressure, which subsequently increased to 140/90 mmHg, and her urine output improved to 1 liter.
