In COLORS’ ongoing show ‘Neerja…Ek Nayi Pehchaan’, the journey of Neerja (Aastha Sharma) takes a momentous turn as she aims to break free from Sonagachi and establish a life of dignity for herself and her mother. Despite her determination, the differences in upbringing, status, and class between her and her beloved Abeer (Rajveer Singh) continue to pose challenges. After overcoming quite a few hardships, the love story of Neerja and Abeer must weather the biggest storm as Trisha, Abeer’s first love, who was believed to be no more, returns. Actor Alma Hussein has been roped in the role of Trisha. She’s a perfect match for Abeer and the ideal daughter-in-law for the Bagchi family. In the current storyline, Neerja is helping the police collect evidence against Didun, while Abeer is heartbroken and succumbs to his family’s insistence on marrying a girl of his mother’s choice. What’s in store for Neerja and Abeer with Trisha entering their lives?
Talking about her entry in the show Alma Hussein says, “I’m excited as Neerja… Ek Nayi Pehchaan is my first collaboration with COLORS. It’s surreal that I got selected on such short notice for this special show. I’ll be seen essaying the role of Trisha, who’s a Bengali beauty and the daughter of a very successful businessman. She is well-educated and has a lot of poise, grace and maturity, but the only grey trait she has is that she’s obsessed with Abeer. I can’t wait for the audiences to see me as Trisha and watch my character bring a storm in Abeer and Neerja’s love story.”
In the upcoming track, audiences will see that Neerja is trying hard to find out why Didun is acting strangely during the Durga Puja festival. As she tries to uncover the truth, her feelings for Abeer make things complicated. This leads to a lot of emotions and surprising discoveries that might change their lives.
