COLORS’ fantasy drama ‘Suhagan Chudail’ weaves a montage of thrilling twists and turns against the backdrop of mesmerizing Rajasthani wedding rituals. The show delivers new twists and turns with its exciting and unique storyline. The Suhagan in the show (played by Debchandrima Singha Roy) is proving she’s not just acting the part – she’s enjoying it too! In a plot twist, as she marries Moksh (played by Zayn Ibad Khan), her character is seen emerging as a strong woman who will go to any lengths to protect her husband from evil Chudail (played by Nia Sharma). Amid the thrilling track, Debchandrima Singha Roy shares her exhilarating experience shooting a wedding sequence for the first time on Hindi television. The handmade outfits worn throughout the sequence added to the magic, by telling a story of craftsmanship and tradition. She shares that for her the most captivating aspect was not just wearing these creations but immersing herself completely in the Rajasthani wedding rituals. Hailing her experience as the East meets the West, she shares what it felt like to be a bride on the Hindi television screen for the first time.
Debchandrima Singha Roy playing the role of Deeya in COLORS’ ‘Suhagan Chudail’ shares, “As an actor, every new experience brings its own set of challenges and excitement. When I first read the script for the wedding sequence in ‘Suhagan Chudail’, I was nervous and excited. Becoming a Rajasthani bride on screen was a surreal experience I’ll never forget. The intricate costumes, adorned with traditional jewelry, and the elaborate makeup transported me into a different world. Despite the physical challenges posed by the weight of the jewelry and the detailed attire, the grandeur of embodying this character is one-of-a-kind. The grand set showcases Rajasthan’s splendor while depicting the region’s rich cultural traditions. I see this as the experience of the East meeting the West.”
As post-wedding celebrations continue, Nishigandha hides herself in a room, but Deeya discovers her nath, revealing Nishigandha’s chudail form. However, Deeya hides the nath in the Karni Mata temple. When Moksh’s friends arrive for the Mooh Dikhayi ceremony and want to meet Nishigandha, one friend sneaks into her room and is killed by Nishigandha. Meanwhile, Deeya sees the body and tries to expose Nishigandha, but she shape-shifts and walks in as a friend. The lingering question remains will Deeya be able to reveal Nishigandha’s identity?
