Did you know ‘Suhagan Chudail’ lead, Debchandrima Singha Roy learned van driving for her character?

In the ever-evolving landscape of television, actors are constantly pushing boundaries to breathe life into their characters. Debchandrima Singha Roy, the rising star of COLORS’ latest fantasy-thriller-romance ‘Suhagan Chudail’, is doing just that by conquering her fear of driving a mobile van for it. The talented actor, who has captivated audiences with her portrayal of Deeya in the show’s magnificent fantasy realm, is now steering her way into new territory off-screen. Recognizing that authenticity is the vehicle that drives a performance home, she has taken on the challenge of mastering mobile van driving, an integral skill for a crucial scene in the show. This commitment to her craft isn’t new for Debchandrima. Having already fine-tuned her Hindi diction for the show, she approached the driving challenge with the same fervour. Whether it’s mastering a new language or getting in the driver’s seat, Debchandrima is proving that she’s in it for the long haul, and audiences are more than happy to come along for the ride. With the show’s popularity soaring, countless eyes are on her as she navigates the twists in the plot and the roads on set.

Debchandrima Singha Roy, who essays the role of Deeya, shared, “I’ve always been scared of driving big vehicles, so I was really nervous when I found out I had to get behind the wheels of a mobile van for the show. It’s a big part of some important scenes. But my director and the crew were very resourceful – they helped me learn to drive it in just two weeks. I remember the first time I sat in the van and started it up. My hands were trembling, and I wasn’t sure if I could do it. I took a moment, said a little prayer, and then started the engine. As an actor, I love playing complicated characters that let me show lots of different emotions and push myself to do new things. That’s exactly what Deeya is – she’s brave, determined, and always eager to go to any length for the things she values. I’m grateful for people watching the show and sending their love to me for my performance as Deeya.”

In the current storyline, Deeya is horrified to find Sugandha’s dead body, while Moksh, distressed, deals with the police. Despite Deeya’s desperate claims of innocence, Moksh is convinced she is guilty. Meanwhile, Nishigandha enjoys the chaos she has caused. Later, in the desert, she continues her scheming by manipulating Manish. Back at the haveli, family tensions rise due to Moksh’s uncertain testimony. During this turmoil, Deeya meets a mysterious Banjaran who hints at Nishigandha’s true nature in Gangajal. Will Deeya uncover Nishigandha’s true nature and clear her name before it’s too late?
