COLORS is all set to launch its new show, ‘Krishna Mohini’, a heartwarming family drama that demonstrates the importance of having a saaRthi (guiding force) in one’s life. Celebrating the endearing bond between a brother and sister residing in Dwarka, Gujarat, the upcoming show follows Krishna (played by Debattama Saha), who is her younger brother Mohan’s (played by Ketaki Kulkarni) ‘SaaRthi’, standing firm like a lighthouse to illuminate the darkest paths for him amid life’s challenges.
1 Tell us something about your new show ‘Krishna Mohini’. This is a fresh topic that has never been seen on television. The show revolves around the bond between siblings, highlighting the importance of having a saaRthi, a guiding force, in one’s life. Krishna’s role as a SaaRthi to her brother Mohan portrays the deep-rooted connection between siblings. I would like to say that audience should watch it and understand after watching because it’s a very captivating story about the relationship between a brother and a sister and how Krishna always supports Mohan.
2 How much effort did you have to put in to play your character? what pushed you to play this character?
Honestly, the team here is incredible. I didn’t have to stress about anything because they’ve got it all covered. From the producers to the directors, everyone’s fantastic and incredibly supportive. To keep the character genuine and relatable, the inspiration were the girls who struggle in their day to day lives and yet are high on spirits.
3 Were there any challenges you faced or overcame while shooting for ‘Krishna Mohini’?
Talking about my fears, riding the scooter and jumping in water for the sequence was a bit daunting. It was hands down the most daunting task of my life, but I summoned up all my courage, even reciting the Hanuman Chalisa for strength, and managed to pull it off. It’s a scene you don’t want to miss – trust me, it’s unforgettable.
4 How did you feel when you were chosen for Krishna Mohini?
I was genuinely thrilled! Learning about Krishna’s character got me excited because she’s not only a singer but also a tour guide. I could relate to her as I share a similar bond with my sister, and the opportunity to portray such a multi-faceted character felt like a great deal to me.
5 Tell us about your character in Krishna Mohini?
Krishna Mohini is a resilient young woman who has faced numerous hardships in her life. At a very young age, she took on the role of a mother to her brother and shoulders the responsibilities of both household and external matters. Despite her struggles, she maintains a pure heart and an unwavering dedication to her family, often going above and beyond to explain things thoroughly. She’s a hardworking, jolly soul who embodies strength and love in caring for her younger brother, her dad, and her family.
6 Krishna has shown her support for Mohan, have you in real life been a saarthi to your younger sister?
I’ve always been extremely protective of my sister. There was a time in school when I’d confront anyone who troubled her, even if it meant facing consequences. I love her immensely, and our relationship mirrors the caring bond between Krishna and Mohan.
7 Tell me, how was your experience working with Fahmaan? Because his fans are crazy, I mean, take his personality or anything from his previous shows, did you have a fan girl type experience working with him? How was it?
Fahmaan and I knew each other from my previous show. We had a good bond, so it was fun working together again this time. He’s cooperative and has a great sense of humour, which made our work enjoyable.
