BSNL Marks 24 Years of Service and Announces Exciting New Developments on Its 25th Anniversary

1st October 2024, Ahmedabad – Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) proudly celebrates its 25th anniversary today, marking a significant milestone in the company’s journey as a premier telecom provider in India. Established on 1st October 2000 as a separate entity from the Department of Telecom (DoT), BSNL has been instrumental in providing comprehensive telecom services across the country, creating a level playing field for both public and private operators. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) proudly celebrated its Foundation Day with a series of community-focused events. In a significant move to serve the public, a Mobile CSC/Aadhaar Card van was flagged off by Chief General Manager of Gujarat Circle Shri Sandeep Savarkar from the BSNL Telephone Bhawan, C.G.Road Office, providing easy access to various BSNL Services/Aadhaar card services. On this occasion with Chief General Manager of Gujarat Circle Shri Sandeep Savarkar, Principal General Manager (S&M) of Gujarat Circle Shri Ashutosh Gupta, Principal General Manager of Ahmedabad Business Area Shri Nitin Mahajan, Director UIDAI State office Gujarat Shri Rajesh Kumar Gupta and other Officers and officials were present in the Flag off program.  The public took advantage of Mobile CSC/Aadhaar Card van service

As BSNL steps into its 25th year, a series of activities and initiatives have been planned across India, particularly in Gujarat, to commemorate the occasion.

BSNL Gujarat Activities:- On the occasion of BSNL Foundation Day, BSNL Gujarat organized a Cleanliness Drive (Swachhata Abhiyaan) at P&T Colony, Satellite Road, Shivaranjani. Officers of BSNL enthusiastically participated in Shramdaan to clean the premises, reflecting the company’s commitment to the national Swachh Bharat mission.

Flagging off of Sanchar Rath- Further, BSNL launched a Sanchar Rath, designed to bring BSNL services closer to customers. This mobile VAN will visit various societies, offering services like 4G/5G SIM Upgradation, Aadhaar verification, and FTTH (Fibre to the Home) connections, all in line with BSNL’s mission to ensure customer satisfaction and convenience.

BSNL Enterprise Business Team’s Foundation Day Initiative- On the occasion of BSNL Foundation Day, the Enterprise Business (EB) Vertical has launched a week-long EB Customer Connect Program from 30th September to 5th October. This initiative brings together all key stakeholders to strengthen relationships with valuable customers. BSNL teams will meet enterprise clients, host workshops, and organize customer meets focused on the latest tele-solutions. These solutions aim to transform existing infrastructures into smart environments, such as Smart Homes, Smart Schools, Smart Cities, Smart Traffic Control, and Smart Parking, contributing to a more connected and efficient future.

Launch of BSNL 4G Network – A Leap in Indigenous Technology- BSNL proudly announces the launch of its 4G network, developed entirely using indigenous technology in collaboration with C-DOT and TCS, in accordance with the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. In Gujarat, BSNL has already upgraded 1500 BTS (Base Transceiver Stations) from 2G/3G to 4G, with plans to upgrade 6000 BTS across all cities in the coming months. The new network will provide seamless coverage, utilizing 700 MHz spectrum efficiently, ensuring no call drops, and delivering download speeds of up to 45 Mbps, making it BSNL’s fastest network to date.

Moreover, BSNL is executing the 4G Saturation Project funded by the DBN (Digital Bharat Nidhi) to extend 4G coverage to remote and rural areas. To date, 260 BTS have been installed in remote locations, with an additional 132 BTS scheduled for installation in the coming month. Another 379 new towers are planned by the end of this year, including 4G coverage at BSF Border Outposts (BoPs), contributing to national security and digital empowerment in border areas.

Monetization of Idle Land Parcels- BSNL plans to monetize idle land parcels through commercial exploitation in partnership with the private sector (PPP model). In Gujarat, 15 land parcels have been identified for projects in the commercial, residential, and renewable energy sectors. This strategic move aims to unlock value from underutilized assets.

Promotional Offers for BSNL Day-To mark BSNL Day, the company is introducing a special promotional offer for GSM prepaid customers. From 1st October to 24th October 2024, customers recharging selected prepaid vouchers (PV/STV) worth more than Rs. 500 will receive 24 GB of extra data with a validity of 24 days, promoting the BSNL Swadeshi 4G experience.

Unlimited Bharat Fibre (FTTH) Broadband Services- BSNL continues to offer a wide range of Unlimited Bharat Fibre (FTTH) Broadband Plans, with speeds ranging from 25 Mbps to 300 Mbps and monthly charges starting at just Rs. 329. Customers benefit from free installation, Wi-Fi ONTs, 24/7 unlimited calling on any network within India, and popular OTT subscriptions at no additional cost.

The most popular plans in Gujarat include:

  • Fibre Basic @ Rs. 499 (60 Mbps)
  • Fibre Basic Plus @ Rs. 599 (100 Mbps)
  • Fibre Super Star Premium Plus @ Rs. 999 (200 Mbps + OTT subscriptions)

Customers also have the option to pay annually, bi-annually, or tri-annually, and enjoy 1 to 4 months of extra service based on the chosen payment plan.

Additionally, BSNL has introduced a WhatsApp Chatbot on 1800-4444 to assist with FTTH services. Customers can simply send a message with “Hi” to the number and access features like new connection bookings, plan upgrades, complaint registrations, bill payments, and more.
